Rohde & Schwarz is an independent manufacturer of electronic test & measurement equipment and systems. Our Signal generators are at home in both the digital and the analog world, from DC well up into the microwave range. We make sure we are setting standards for signal generation. Today our signal generators can already generate the analog or digital modulation modes as well as IQ modulation modes for tomorrow. Besides signal generation our product portfolio includes equipment for microwave generation, arbitrary waveform (ARB) generators and tracking generator families.
Our high-end Vector Signal Generator R&S® SMU200A sets new standards in signal generation. This vector signal generator is able to compute complex signals from a signal source in realtime. In addition, the vector signal generator contains an arbitrary waveform generator (ARB) with a large memory depth, IQ modulation with 200 MHz RF bandwidth and an outstanding ACLR characteristics. Amplifiers of 3GPP base stations require very good ACLR performance. To test this feature, the ACLR characteristics of the signal generator must be better than those of the amplifier. Based on the R&S SMU200A, the R&S® SMATE200A vector signal generator is especially designed for production environments. The digital standard EUTRA/LTE is available for this instrument.
The R&S®SMJ100A vector signal generator meets all challenges that diverse applications place on modern vector signal generators. It offers the signal quality and flexibility required in research and development as well as a convenient graphical user interface (GUI). In production, it excels with its flexible baseband and low setting times. The baseband meets all requirements, from providing realtime signals to replaying precalculated waveforms.
The allrounder among our vector signal generators is the Vector Signal Generator R&S® SMV03 – it has a frequency range of 9 kHz to 3.3 GHZ (5 MHz to 3.3 GHz with I/Q modulation). When used together with the R&S® AMIQ and R&S® WinIQSIM™, the R&S® SMV03 can generate digital signals that meet any requirement. The Vector Signal Generator R&S® SM300 offers all the features required of a general purpose signal generator: wide frequency range, large variety of modulation functions and high reliability - at an extremely attractive price. The fields of application of the R&S® SM300 signal generator are virtually unlimited in development, servicing or production where it is used as a flexible signal source in automatic test systems. The built-in I/Q modulator is ideal for generating digitally modulated signals. An external two-channel arbitrary waveform generator (e.g. R&S® AMIQ) serves as a modulation source.
Analog Signal Generators
The analog Signal Generator family R&S® SML offers all features required of a state-of-the-art general-purpose signal generator. The fields of application of the R&S® SML are virtually unlimited in production where it is used as a flexible signal source in automatic test systems. The R&S® SMA100A signal generator sets a new standard of excellence in the analog signal generator class. It combines superior signal quality with very high setting speed and thus makes it ideal for any task in development, production, service or maintenance. Especially for mid-range, the R&S® SMB100A signal generator offers high measurement accuracy in a wide variety of applications, a high output power as well as on-site servicing as a convenient alternative.
Microwave Signal Generators
The R&S SMR family covers the range from 10 MHz to 60 GHz and is an ideal tracking generator for microwave generation. As a tracking generator the SMR can be used for scale network analysis. Another classical field of application for microwave generation is the testing of radar receivers. To meet even the highest of requirements, the R&S® SMF100A microwave signal generator was designed and developed as a first-rate, state-of-the-art microwave signal generator that sets new standards. It thus covers the numerous fields of application encountered in R&D, production, service, maintenance, and repair. Excellent signal quality, very high output power, a frequency range from 1 GHz to 22 GHz/43.5 GHz as well as a selection of interfaces are benefits of this instrument. The Rohde & Schwarz portfolio in this product category is completed by the R&S® SMP Microwave Signal Generator, a reliable, high-precision signal source featuring high output power, high spectral purity and excellent pulse modulation. It is able to supply different modulations for any measurement on radar and communication equipment.
