New universal recorder/generator for digital video streams

20.12.2002 - The new DTV Recorder Generator R&S DVRG from Rohde & Schwarz can both record digital video streams of disparate formats and replay them in excellent quality. This makes the R&S DVRG a worldwide unrivalled, versatile platform for processing digital video signals.

The R&S DVRG provides a parallel SPI interface as well as serial ASI, SMPTE310 and SDI interfaces. The front control as well as external software programs can be used to manipulate these recorded formats to allow application-specific replay. Uncompressed SDI streams are cut exactly to frame and replayed infinitely, thus enabling the precise testing of video components. Another functionality supports the generation of any transport stream signal with user-specific video contents, by cutting and generating from uncompressed video material.
The wide scope of functions of the compact and portable R&S DVRG is complemented by a comprehensive library of transport streams that can be replayed in the R&S DVRG generator function.
